Culture Village Area Guide Culture Village is a new waterfront development in Al Jaddaf, overlooking the Dubai Creek. It lies between the two bridges over the creek; Al Garhoud Bridge, carrying the E11, and Business Bay Crossing, carrying the Al Khail Road. Besides the cultural and exhibition centres implied by the name, Culture Village will also be home to two exclusive hotels, Palazzo Versace and the Iris Asmar, 582 apartment buildings, shops and over 2,000 parking spaces. Construction is underway and completion is expected in 2017. Culture Village Masterplan There are several distinct elements to Culture Village: Manazel Al Khor - A low-rise, waterfront development by Dubai Properties featuring 74 spacious three- and four- bedroom apartments. The project is under-construction and expected to be delivered in 2016. Dubai Wharf - Launched in September 2014, this is a multi-storey, mixed-use development that has been conceived as a contemporary Arabesque town. Culture, heritage and art will be at the centre of the development which stretches along the banks of the creek. The Anantara Hotel & Spa - Announced in 2014 this will be developed by Dubai Properties and operated by Minor Hotel Group under the Anantara brand. The hotel will be located on the waterfront and will comprise 290 guestrooms, a rooftop pool, a spa and a range of restaurants, bars and retail outlets. Palzzo Versace - A five star super opulent hotel opened in November 2015. It boasts 215 rooms and 169 condominiums, ranging from one to six bedrooms. There are eight restaurants: Giardino, an all-day dining restaurant, with wallpaper in the label’s Jungle print; seafood restaurant Vanitas; “avant-garde” Enigma; lobby lounge Mosaico; Q’s bar, by music producer Quincy Jones; La Vita bar; shisha lounge Gazebo; and pool bar Amalfi. Outside there are three pools and a spa. D1 (standing for ‘Dubai 1’) is an 80-storey residential tower in Culture Village next to the Palazzo Versace. Developed by Enshaa, D1 offers its residents a sky lounge, private cinema, indoor pool, gym and concierge services. The building has one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom condominiums and opened in 2015. Designed by Amsterdam architects UNStudio and based on the form of a dhow, the museum holds a variety of exhibition spaces as well as leasable workshop spaces, an auditorium, and an amphitheatre for live performances and international festivals. In addition, MOMEMA offers a 60-room boutique hotel and a retail promenade on the waterfront featuring a high end signature restaurant on the top level, with 360 degree views of Dubai Creek.
